“The 2nd Annual Kurilpa Beggars’ Banquet To Conclude The 9th Annual Kurilpa Derby” Sunday, October 23rd 2016 Last year, while the street was still closed after the Kurilpa Derby, community members set up tables and chairs for a sit down community dinner.  The dinner was entirely free because we did the whole thing ourselves.  The good news is … it’s on again and, like last year, everything is free. WECA Annual General Meeting Report On Saturday December 5th, 2015, the West End Community Association (WECA) members and friends gathered for its Annual General meeting in the Uniting Church Hall. Thanks to all who attended for your continued support of WECA. 1000 community ideas for our new park on Thomas Street!

The new park on the corner of Thomas and Vulture Streets is West End’s only chance to create a truly public square big enough to support the life of the main street. This will be the first new park in 20 years for West End. The vacant site was acquired by Brisbane City Council as part of its local neighbourhood planning processes.
