Switchboard Arts presents Imagined Worlds.
We walk with Gods and Goddesses, and hear tales of warrior queens and bested beasts. We see worlds of whimsy that lift our souls and dystopias of darkness where monsters live. We may sit by a pond that has never existed or gaze into the heart of a galaxy glimpsed through a keyhole.
Through visual art, discussion and live performance, Imagined Worlds invites us to explore the space between fantasy and reality.
Making Art Happen is what motivates Janine Healy. Janine completed a Bachelor of Arts Majoring in Visual Arts (Printmaking, Painting, Drawing and Sculpture) at the Queensland College of Art and also works under the names “LeGoGirl” and “Watermark Art” as an interdisciplinary artist.
Suzie is a visual artist based between the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane, Queensland. Suzie primarily practices in ceramics working in porcelain stoneware using wheel thrown techniques to create miniature works often set in groupings that suggest relational interconnectedness.
With soaring vocals and divine harmony this female vocal trio transport you to other worlds with songs of love and justice sung in Spanish and English.
Anarchosophist is the Lofi Hip Hop alter ego of Brisbane based producer/guitarist Padraig Parkhurst. His debut album, described by New Music Weekly as ‘a Neo-Noir fairytale’ follows a ‘Black Martyr on the Road to Salvation’ through a grimy cityscape etched in Jazz and Funk.
