YuinHuzami (AKA Pete Gorrie) is a visionary artist, lyricist, performer and producer hailing from Brisbane, Australia. His honesty and dedication to exploring the important issues facing our entire planet is a very rare thing and definitely something to be applauded and proud of in an Australian Hip Hop scene awash with acts seeking to become the next big thing.
Yuin’s latest offering The Ripple Effect was entirely self-produced in the Born Fresh studios Brisbane, and features collaborations with some of Boomtowns brightest vocalists Mr Laneous and Kelon Earth (Bankrupt Billionaires), as well as a host of musicians found amongst the ranks of acts like Kingfisher, Kafka, Kooii and Ruby Blue.
The Ripple Effect flows effortlessly from start to finish, the breadth of knowledge and content matter taking the listener on an audio journey which forces one to question their own morality and relation to the world.
“Australian Hip Hop and Australian music in general, needs YuinHuzami – an uncompromising voice of reason in a world increasingly ruled by capitalist interests. Yuin is a modern day Che, and when the revolution begins he will be on the front line singing the theme tune. Believe.
Listening to YuinHuzami wax lyrical is akin to listening to the voice of reason in your head. Only his voice sounds way better than yours”. Jesswon (Thundamentals)
Yuin is currently based in the Amazon jungles of Peru working on a cross-cultural music and beat production collaboration album with a dozen traditional Shapibo plant medicine healers (more on that later!). He returns to his home shores in November to head up an extensive tour of conscious music festivals including Island Vibe, Eclipse 2012, Earth Freq and a host of side shows yet to be announced.
The Ripple Effect marks YuinHuzami’s love for both music and art, with the digital album released in conjunction with a series of stunning artworks painted by YuinHuzami himself. The unique concept album sees the MC/beat-maker/artist at his finest behind the mic and the beats, augmenting the powerful themes explored in his music with a beautiful original art-piece for each song on the album. The original canvas works and limited edition prints are now available exclusively via www.yuinhuzami.bandcamp.com.
The Ripple Effect is out now on Born Fresh Records as a digital download only available from iTunes, CDBaby and www.yuinhuzami.bandcamp.com. The new film clip for the first single “Huz Sane” feat Mr Laneous can be viewed in HD at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neDtbEvctr0&feature=channel
