Winter is the perfect time to rug up and get creative indoors! Why not craft in Reverse these June-July school holidays with a Reverse Garbage eco-art workshop?
“What is an eco-art workshop? At Reverse Garbage it’s a creative and environmental learning experience!†says PR Co-ordinator, Rozina Suliman.
“We discuss the three R’s (reduce, reuse and recycle) as well as the origins of many of the materials,†says Workshop Co-ordinator Nadine Schmoll.
“The creative application of salvaged materials encourages children to think outside the square and about ways that they can re-use ordinary objects that are often deemed as rubbish†Nadine says.
For example old plastic containers, cardboard and contact can become a fancy hat or a handful of furry offcuts, rubber discs and plastic can take on a new life as a furry animal toy!
“Children are often surprised to hear about where the materials come from and excited to use junk to create wonderful works of art, sculptures, toys and decorations.†says Nadine.
Designed for children aged 6-12 years, the Winter program includes themes such as: Wearable Art, Pirates Ahoy, Furry Friends, Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, Robots, Spaceships and Aliens and more!
