Australia’s premier Indigenous fashion, business, and culture event, the Black Bold and Beautiful (BBB) Luncheon, returns on Monday 10th March 2025 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. Tickets are on sale now and will close at midnight on Tuesday 4th March.
This year’s event will be hosted by Karina Hogan, and features guest speakers Juanita Page, Linda Jackson, Bianca Hunt, Bronwyn Bancroft and Briana Enoch, with live music from Suga Cane Mamas.
Indigenous designers hitting the catwalk in 2025 include Koori Threads, Red Ridge, Elverina Johnson, Mum-Red, Jarawee, Maara Collections, and Reppin’ Nation, and Red Ridge.
First launched in 2009, the event has been driven by founder Aunty Sandra King OAM, each year featuring guest speakers, fashion parades, food and a unique showcase of Indigenous businesses from across the state, celebrating International Women’s Day and promoting Indigenous communities, culture, business and creativity.
The 2025 Black Bold & Beautiful luncheon – themed “Past, Present & Future” – will continue to be a cornerstone in the community, and each year has consistently championed Indigenous women, providing a platform to celebrate their enduring strength and resilience.
Since BBB began in 2009, the event has engaged with more than 5000 people as participants, volunteers, supporters and attendees – the longevity and continued growth demonstrating the value BBB provides for the community.
Sandra King was among the country’s first prominent Indigenous fashion models in the 1970s, who went on to establish a modelling agency in the early 1990’s then ventured into Sandra King Management. Each year Sandra curates the BBB events to provide a forum for Indigenous women and non-Indigenous women to come together and network, invest and inspire each other.
Black Bold & Beautiful influences extend beyond the boardroom, with an expo that showcases Indigenous women in their business ventures, embracing the vibrant world of Indigenous fashion, showcasing the innovative designs and traditional craftmanship that enrich our cultural landscape.
Black Bold & Beautiful is an annual standalone national Indigenous women’s luncheon where you can “B Informed, B Inspired, B Empowered”.
