A public memorial will be held next week to honour the life and career of Queensland great, Bille Brown AM, announced Arts Minister Ros Bates.
Â
“The celebration of his life, This is the Stuff, will be open to the public and will take place on Monday 4 February 2013 at 4pm at the Playhouse, Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), in Brisbane,” Ms Bates said.
Â
“The event will bring together colleagues, friends and family of the much-loved arts figure.
Â
“Bille Brown AM was a celebrated actor and playwright who performed in the United Kingdom and the United States, working with some of the biggest names in the industry.
Â
“But at the end of the day he still called Australia home performing regularly in Queensland Theatre Company productions and in local film and television shows.”
Â
The actor passed away on Sunday 13 January in Brisbane.
Â
This is the Stuff has been produced by QPAC and the Queensland Theatre Company.
Â
It will include local and international artists in live dramatic and musical performances, audio visual presentations from colleagues including David Hare, Derek Jacobi, Carol Burns, Kate Foy and long-time friend and fellow actor Geoffrey Rush.
