McDonald’s Australia will start construction on a new restaurant in West End (220 Melbourne Street) injecting over $5 million into the local economy and creating over 80 jobs during construction, as well as a further 120 local jobs once the restaurant opens.
Macca’s West End will be owned and operated by Licensee, Mandy Wentworth, who joined McDonald’s as a crew person over 24 years ago. This will be Mandy’s first restaurant as a McDonald’s licensee.
Designed with West End’s lively streetscape and outdoor dining culture in mind, Macca’s West End will feature modern décor, indoor and outdoor dining areas for added convenience, a dedicated partner delivery room and McCafé for customers to enjoy.
Mandy Wentworth, Licensee for McDonald’s West End said: “We are excited to start construction on a new restaurant in West End and create over 200 jobs during construction and once the restaurant opens.
“Macca’s West End is committed to playing an active role in the local community through providing jobs, training and development opportunities, as well as supporting local causes and groups that are important to our customers and people.
“As a lifelong Queenslander, I am excited to join West End as a local businesswoman and look forward to serving up our great tasting, great quality menu once the restaurant opens later this year.”

Another gentrification burden on this precious neighbourhood.
Macdonalds are known major sources of litter, support genocidal states and provide very unhealthy food.
The positive spin on this article is concerning, were you paid to promote them?
Just one of the many press releases I receive daily. I thought our readers would like to know about it. As for being paid, the Westender hasn’t received a skerrick of advertising or sponsorship income for years, not since we ran a print edition back in the early 2000s.
