Triathletes must be adaptable, having to excel in three endurance disciplines – swimming, cycling and running. Cycling is the most time-consuming segment of the Triathlon. Without a doubt I can say we don’t celebrate local and emerging bands enough in this city. Luckily there are those who take it upon themselves to rectify this by arranging a band competition to bring the awesomeness to the people. Archive Untapped Original Music Competition had some 48 bands duke it out at West End’s Archive Bar. Each year at Christmas, local community group Micah Projects provides many opportunities for people who are marginalised and living in poverty to celebrate and enjoy the festive season. One of the Christmas activities they undertake, alongside their supporters, is to organise, pack and deliver Christmas food hampers and fresh fruit for the individuals and families they support on Christmas Eve.
